Zouaves were units who adopted the clothing of French Algerian troops; at the time of the American Civil War the French army were the most powerful in the world, and thus the most emulated: the kepi worn by so many other American Civil War troops also reflects this influence.

Most of the figures in this set were originally sculpted by Replicants’ Peter Cole for Marksmen Models. Therefore they complement the Replicants range perfectly. This set is moulded in high-density polythene.
