Knights’ heads

For years collectors had been asking us to do separate visors for the Swoppet knights, as these got lost so easily. We pointed out the problems of doing something so technically demanding: not only were they very fine and delicate; they also were awkward because the split line on the mould could not be all in one plane like the other spare parts we produced. Such an item was beyond our capabilities. Then the late Lee Turner suggested doing knight heads with the visors moulded on, thereby sidestepping all the technical problems. The two heads each have a hole in the top of the helm to take the standard crest and favour of the Swoppet knights. One of the heads has the visor raised while the other is closed. For all the Swoppet knights apart from the archer and crossbowman.
